Job Summary
The Marketing & Communications Specialist plays a dual role in shaping the organization’s public image and supporting niche B2B, B2G marketing activities within the defense and high-tech sector. The role ensures strategic messaging, visual branding, campaign execution, and event coordination are delivered with precision, compliance, and impact. This is an ideal position for a creative communicator with a strong understanding of sensitive industry protocols and a knack for performance-driven marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Campaigns & Branding
- Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns for defense expos, seminars, and new product launches.
- Design and edit marketing collateral such as brochures, datasheets, roll-ups, and digital assets using tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
- Schedule and manage content on LinkedIn, company website, and other relevant B2B platforms.
- Track marketing KPIs, event ROI, and campaign performance, and compile reports for senior management.
Corporate & Internal Communications
- Draft and distribute internal newsletters, policy updates, and leadership messages to enhance employee engagement.
- Write and manage press releases, case studies, success stories, and media responses aligned with brand and sector standards.
- Ensure all communication complies with security protocols and receives necessary internal approvals before public release.
- Monitor defense industry trends and news to craft proactive, relevant messaging and crisis responses.
Events & Stakeholder Engagement
- Organize logistics for exhibitions and official visits, including booth design, vendor coordination, and branded giveaways.
- Liaise with HR and cross-functional teams to align internal branding and external messaging.
- Maintain structured archives of all communication materials, marketing assets, and project documentation.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in corporate communications and/or B2B marketing, preferably in a defense or industrial sector.
- Certification or training in digital media, crisis communication, or internal communications is a plus.
- Experience with technical writing or B2G marketing is highly desirable.
Required Skills
- Strong content creation, copywriting, and editorial capabilities.
- Basic design proficiency and a keen visual sense.
- Ability to simplify complex technical information for non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with tools like SharePoint, Mailchimp, and Slack is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
- Confidentiality awareness and familiarity with defense sector communication protocols.
Work Environment
- Office-based with frequent collaboration with Marketing, HR, and Product teams.
- Occasional travel to exhibitions, expos, and client locations.
- Interaction with external vendors, design houses, and media partners, with strict adherence to approval and security workflows.
